Operating Systems

Any operating system that permits you to create, compile, run, and print the source code and screen I/O of your program is acceptable.  Unless you are locked into a particular operating system, it is probably wise to use the system on which you can obtain the most help from your coworkers or classmates.  C/C++ compilers are available for virtually every operating system and machine.  Windows, of course, is without question the most widely used operating system.
